A Film Study Project
As part of Dr. McClurken’s US History in Film class, I have engaged in my own study of Brian De Palma’s 1987 film, The Untouchables and its portrayal of Al Capone, Elliot Ness and his Untouchables, gangland Chicago and the prohibition era. The following project will touch on topics the class has been discussing all semester: the portrayal of the past in the film, the historical accuracy of that portrayal, the perspective of the filmmaker, and the success of the film as a primary and secondary source of historical information.
I hereby declare upon my word of honor that I have neither given nor received any unauthorized help on this work.
